What we are looking for
We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper who will mainly focus on Gelt's internal finance operations. Are you a financial expert with a passion for accuracy and a deep understanding of US laws, accounting, and taxes? In this role, you will
- Monitor accounts payable and process payment batches.
- Process US payroll and manage employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Prepare and manage the audit and the company’s US tax returns and compliance.
- Record financial transactions by maintaining accurate records of all income, expenses, and journal entries in accounting software (QuickBooks).
- Reconcile bank and credit card monthly statements to ensure all transactions are properly categorized and matched.
- Track and categorize business expenses to ensure proper cost allocation.
- Prepare and process payroll or assist with payroll entries and related tax filings.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s financial and accounting functions.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Comply with reporting requirements using knowledge of US local laws.
- Prepare and review consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Consolidate US financial statements and overall financial statements, and analyze budget versus actual performance.
- Generate financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
About you
You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of financial operations in a fast-moving environment. You communicate clearly, work well with distributed teams, and are motivated by delivering accurate, timely financial insights.
Core qualifications
- Accounting licenses or certifications, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central), QuickBooks Online, Google Sheets, and system integrations.
- Expertise in US payroll is a significant advantage.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address challenges independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a controller or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial regulations.
- Experience working with US clients is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

- Headset (preferably with a noise-canceling microphone).
- Fast and stable internet connection (at least 10 Mbps).
- Available to work long-term within US business hours.
